Brain Stimulation and Robotics Laboratory
The Brain Stimulation and Robotics Laboratory uses various non-invasive brain stimulation systems, including transcranial magnetic stimulation (single, paired, repetitive) and direct current brain stimulation. These approaches are used to examine the functioning of the nervous system following an injury or intervention, or to modulate the status of specific brain regions to increase the efficacy of rehabilitation interventions. A neuronavigation system guides the application of the stimulations on a 3D image of the brain. A KINARM robotized exoskeleton and an EMG system are used to evaluate upper limb sensorimotor function and learning capacity.
